During the month of July, residents can donate blood and food at four Stock Our Shelves (SOS) Blood and Food Drives at St. Tammany Parish Library branch locations.
In partnering with the Northshore Food Bank and The Blood Center, St. Tammany Parish Library will host the drives at four branch locations over two days: July 12, 2022: Mandeville and Madisonville; July 27, 2022: Slidell and South Slidell.
Residents are asked to come out to donate blood and bring non-perishable food items to help stock the shelves of the food bank.
Blood donors receive a free t-shirt, and a coupon for a pint of Bluebell ice cream.
The Northshore Food Bank is in most need of the following: fruit in water or fruit juice, cereal (whole grain, unsweetened), rice (low/no-salt added), and veggies.
For those who cannot donate blood, food donations are welcome.
Blood drives will be Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Mandeville Branch, 844 Girod Street, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.; or the Madisonville Branch, 1123 Main Street, 2p.m. – 5p.m. On Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the Slidell Branch, 555 Robert Blvd., 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or the South Slidell Branch, 3901 Pontchartrain Drive, 2p.m. – 5p.m.
