The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office says fentanyl laced pills were seized during a narcotics bust.
Sheriff Jason Ard said LPSO narcotics agents learned that citizens suspected a resident was selling illegal narcotics from a residence in the 14000 stretch of Lewis Rd. in Maurepas.
During their investigation LPSO Narcotics agents observed this resident actively conducting what is commonly seen with the distribution of street level narcotics in a local convenience store parking area.
20 YO Hunter Melancon was taken into custody and placed in the Livingston Parish Detention Center. He faces numerous drug charges.
Sheriff Ard said in 2022, in the unincorporated areas of Livingston Parish, they have had 48 overdose deaths and they believe the number is spiking due to fentanyl.
