The Hammond DDD, in partnership with the Tangipahoa Chamber, will host the official grand opening of Railroad Park on Wednesday, June 1, at 5:30 p.m.
Railroad Park has been a long-standing project of the DDD. The property has been labeled as Downtown Hammond’s “city center” throughout multiple Master Plan updates. With the renovation now complete, the public space has been transformed into a park for all to enjoy in the heart of Hammond.
The grand opening celebration will begin with opening remarks from city leaders and a ribbon cutting ceremony. Engraved bricks recently purchased by community members will be unveiled at the opening.
Following the ribbon cutting, Will Vance and the Kinfolk will take the stage until 8 p.m.
Light refreshments will be available on-site.
The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the live music and visit local restaurants and shops.
Community members interested in purchasing a bench or a personalized engraved brick at Railroad Park can visit dddhammond.com/buyabrick.
The official address for Railroad Park is 106 Northwest Railroad Avenue, Hammond.
