From May 9th to May 13th, adoption fees for all dogs and cats at Northshore Humane Society will be reduced to $25 through a grant from Bissell Pet Foundation.
The reduced adoption event comes after the no-kill shelter has recently experienced a significant increase in returned animals adopted during the COVID pandemic.
Director of Operations, Alexandra Coogan, said as a no-kill shelter with a managed intake system, they try to take in as many homeless animals as possible. When a previously adopted animal returns to the shelter, they ultimately take the spot of another life that could have been saved.
The reduced adoption event will take place Monday, May 9th through Friday, May 13th 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Saturday, May 14th 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Families are encouraged to stop by the shelter any time during the event to browse the animals available for adoption on-site at the shelter or visit their website at www.northshorehumane.org to see all animals under their care and available for the special.
All pets are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spay/neutered and microchipped.
Adopters may be required to purchase parish tags and/or prevention.
