
FBI Director Christopher Wray met with New Orleans authorities to talk about growing violent crime in that city.
He began by acknowledging that gun violence is up all over the country. He said there was no question that the violent crime problem in the country was real, and it has been growing.
Gathered around the table were law enforcement leaders from around the state including Louisiana State Police, various police departments and the US Attorney.
The FBI has established a task force to help cities get violent crime and gun violence under control.
Thursday’s meeting was to hear new solutions about what can be done better across the entire area.
