Yesterday the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, along with other first responders, was called to the scene of a crash involving an Amtrak train and an 18-wheeler at Highway 51 and Bonfiglio Lane just north of Tickfaw.
Thankfully no injuries were reported.
TPSO said traffic congestion was expected in the area for at least a few hours and drivers were asked to avoid the area if at all possible.
