HFD along with HRFD were called out over the weekend and successfully extricated the driver of an overturned semi on the I-55 south to I-12 west exit ramp.
Chief Jimmy Travis of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said I-55 S to I-12 W was closed due to the crash.
After a successful attempt of removing the driver from the wreckage, an initial assessment showed the driver sustained only minor injuries.
Acadian Ambulance, Hammond Fire Department, Louisiana State Police, and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office were all on scene.
