The Nunez Skillshop Ribbon Cutting will happen at the Kane Building on the Nunez campus, 3700 LaFontaine St. in Chalmette on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 10:30 am.
Nunez Chancellor Dr. Tina Tinney and Skillshop Program Manager Vincent Vumbaco will address a gathering of industry partners, Nunez faculty and staff, and any attending members of the public.
The Skillshop at Nunez Community College has been active for several years now but has seen its official ribbon cutting pushed back multiple times by the pandemic.
This Wednesday we will finally give it the opening it deserves.
The Skillshop makerspace is full of high-tech tools like 3D printers and CNC Routers (along with the accompanying computer software), power tools and hand tools. They cater to everyone from small business manufacturing to artists, craftspeople, and weekend DIYers.
