
Carnival in Covington Parade 2022 and Inaugural Tammany Gras hits Covington on Fat Tuesday.
Hayley Arceneaux from the Northshore will serve as Grand Marshal. Hayley is best known for her trip to space on September 2021 on Space X first private spaceflight Inspiration4. Hayley is a child cancer survivor and a current physician’s assistant at St. Jude Hospital.
Also featured will be Honorary Grand Marshal’s Northshore Medical Heroes from St. Tammany Health System, Lakeview Regional Medical Center, Slidell Memorial Hospital and Ochsner Medical Center-North Shore. Each will have a chosen representative from the medical community who went above and beyond during the COVID pandemic.
A crowd favorite, the Saints Superfans are returning to this year’s parade.
Look for 20 float parade, 12 marching groups and bands, horse groups and special lagniappe to wow the crowd in downtown Covington.
Covington’s Mardi Gras Parade rolls through the City’s historic downtown at 10 am on March 1, with the after party, Tammany Gras, starting at noon at the Covington Trailhead, 419 N. New Hampshire Street. Tammany Gras lasts until 4 pm and will feature a costume contest, food, beverages, music, dancing, second-lines, activities for children, and much more.
