On August 9, 2021, TPSO Detectives began investigating a carjacking incident that occurred near the intersection of Tantillo Ln and Kohnke Hill Rd in Hammond.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify a suspect, 18 YO Damon Daniels of Hammond.
Daniels is accused of luring the victim to the scene of the incident where armed assailants awaited. The suspects then took the vehicle at gunpoint and fled the scene.
Chief Jimmy Travis reports that on January 18, TPSO Detectives made contact with Daniels at the Hammond Substation and were able to take Daniels into custody for 1 count of criminal conspiracy and 1 count of carjacking.
Daniels was then booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
