The St. Tammany Parish School Board appointed a longtime educator to fill the 7th District seat left vacant when Shelta Richardson resigned last month.
Isabelle Bahan Moore spent 37 years in Jefferson Parish and St. Tammany Parish schools. Her last role was as principal of Mandeville Elementary.
Moore was appointed at a special meeting in Covington. She will serve until general School Board elections this fall.
Three others applied for the post.
