On January 5, the Hammond Police Department began investigating two shoplifting incidents occurring at Walmart, located at 2799 West Thomas Street.
The incidents involved the same two suspects and occurred on December 10, 2021 and December 27, 2021. The suspects were identified from security footage as a white female with reddish-brown hair and a white male with what appears to be dark hair and a tattoo on his left forearm.
Both suspects removed various items from their packaging, concealed the items on their person and in Walmart bags, and then left the store without purchasing the items that were valued in excess of $649.
