Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng says she has tested positive for COVID-19.
Lee Sheng said she began feeling ill days prior, but a rapid test said she was negative.
She then took another test Wednesday, which came back positive.
Lee Sheng said because she is vaccinated and boosted, her symptoms have been mild.
Lee Sheng said she urges everyone that feels sick to please stay home. She added that even if you test negative at the onset of symptoms, it might be too early and it’s possible that you don’t have enough viral load to test positive yet.
