
Two COVID testing options are open in St Tammany as we head into the holiday weekend.
Ochsner Health Systems will be offering daily COVID-19 testing starting on Friday, Dec. 31, at the Fritchie Park Gym located at 905 W. Howze Beach Road in Slidell.
Hours for Dec. 31 – Jan. 2 are 12 to 5 pm and starting on Monday, Jan. 3, the hours will be 12 to 7 pm daily.
COVID-19, PCR testing is open to the public, ages two and older. Members of the community who wish to be tested should bring an ID and insurance card, if applicable. There are no out-of-pocket costs for those seeking a test and no one will be turned away based on their insurance status.
Testing is available at the times listed or until all test kits have been utilized.
Testing schedules are subject to change due to weather.
Results delivered within three days via the MyChart app.

In addition, St. Tammany Parish Government says a COVID-19 testing location will be offered in West St. Tammany as well.
Free tests will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on Thursday, December 30, and Friday, December 31, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., or until all tests have been utilized, at the St. Tammany Parish Fairgrounds at 1304 N Columbia Street in Covington.

President Mike Cooper said they are encouraging citizens to seek testing if you are feeling unwell. He added that people should consult with their medical professionals regarding protection from COVID-19, including vaccination, and take steps you deem necessary to protect yourself and your family.
