A Livingston district court judge has sentenced a convicted armed robber to 109 years for the robbery of a UPS worker that occurred in December of 2020, according to District Attorney Scott Perrilloux.
On October 3,2O2, a Livingston Parish jury heard evidence in the case of State of Louisiana vs. Jeremy McDavis.
Assistant District Attorney Kurt Wall presented evidence at the trial which revealed that 34 YO Jeremy McDavis brandished a semi-automatic weapon and forced a UPS driver to transfer multiple packages into McDavis’s vehicle. McDavis then attempted to speed away from the scene once Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the location of the robbery.
Deputies began a pursuit of the suspect for several miles until the suspect crashed his vehicle into a ditch off 4-H Club Road.
The Livingston Parish jury, which consisted of 10 women and 2 men, deliberated for less than an hour before finding McDavis guilty as charged.
The sentencing imposed took into account previous criminal convictions.
