To date, the SBA says they have approved over $1.1 billion loan billion in federal disaster loans for Louisiana businesses and residents impacted by Hurricane Ida.
Although the deadline to apply for disaster loans for physical damage passed Nov. 29, they will continue to accept loan applications for these loans until Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021.
If any residents or businesses have not yet applied, they should do so now.
They should not wait for their insurance to settle before applying.
They do not need to accept the funds right away, but they will have some time to access the funds should they need them.
The application deadline for Economic Injury Disaster Loans to businesses is May 31, 2022. These loans are for working capital to businesses who may or may not have suffered physical damage during Hurricane Ida.
