
Corporal Carli Messina will be the new Assistant Public Information Officer for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Corporal Messina brings 13 years of law enforcement experience to her new role.
Corporal Messina began her law enforcement career as an Agent for Louisiana Probation and Parole, where she supervised felony offenders within St. Tammany Parish, from 2008 to 2010.
In 2010, Corporal Messina was hired by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Over the last 8 years, Corporal Messina has spent the majority of that time as a detective, investigating crimes against children, with an emphasis on sex crimes against children.
In 2019, Corporal Messina transferred to the Human Resources Division, where she conducted background investigations on applicants for hire.
Corporal Messina is a lifelong resident of St. Tammany Parish and a graduate of Mandeville High School, class of 2000. She possesses a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology, which she obtained from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.
Corporal Messina, who is a wife and mother of two small children, is very excited about her new role.
In her free time, Corporal Messina enjoys working out and spending time with her family. Sheriff Smith says she brings years of experience serving the people of the parish; and is a dedicated employee, always striving for what is the best for this agency and the community.
