On November 7, 2021, the Hammond Police Department responded to the Sun Lane area in response to shots fired with a single victim being struck.
Through their investigation, detectives identified Del’uke Day, 20 years old from Hammond, as the suspect. A warrant has been issued for Attempted Second Degree Homicide. Day is believed to be operating a black Kia Soul, which was used during the shooting.
