In Covington the sex crimes trial of former St. Tammany Sheriff Jack Strain was interrupted and abruptly recessed Thursday morning after an outburst from one of Jack Strain’s alleged victims.
Skip Keen was testifying Thursday morning and says Strain raped him on several occasions beginning when he was 10 years old.
Keen, who used to run one of the sheriff’s halfway houses, broke down several times as he described what he says happened to him.
The 58 YO Strain went to trial Monday amid accusations of abusing multiple juveniles before and during his time as sheriff.
Next month Strain will also face federal charges involving the privatization of a controversial inmate work release program.
The trial resumes today and is expected to last through next week.
