St Tammany Health System had a positive report yesterday when it comes to COVID.
They said their vaccination team has surpassed 30,000 vaccines administered among staff and the community, and their inpatient COVID census was below 10 for the first time since July.
Specifically, with 191 patients in their hospital, only eight are in COVID care, and their vaccination team along with all our fellow health providers parish-wide have helped our community reach the 50% mark on completely vaccinated residents.
STHS reminds the community that everyone 12 and over is eligible for a free COVID-19 vaccine. If you were already vaccinated with Pfizer and are 65 or older, a long-term care resident, an adult with underlying medical conditions, or an adult at increased risk of COVID-19 because of your job or living situation, you are eligible for a booster at least six months after your second dose.
