Army Corps of Engineers Lt. Col. Robert Warren Green says the Blue Roof Program will install its 10,000th roof today.
That’s about a quarter of all validated requests for a tarp. He said they are confident they are going to meet their initial goal, which was to have all of the roofs, or all of the requests for roofs, installed within the first 60 days.
Green said about 40,000 requests have been validated, with contractors averaging about 1,000 roofs a day.
