
For Phase One parishes the Department of Child and Family Services opened Friday and Saturday for any callers who could not get through on their alphabet day.
In a statement, the department says they handled 76,515 calls Monday through Friday and 17,898 calls through Saturday evening.
Now with Phase Two and Three parishes scheduled to start, the department says for those in Phase One who have yet to get through there is no telling if or when the phone lines will be open for them again.
DSNAP is a one-time issuance and the department says for a family of four, the allotment will be 782 dollars.
The next phase of parishes begins today and includes Tangipahoa.
