
Yesterday the Louisiana Department of Health reported 5,131 new #COVID19 cases.
The vast majority (98%) of these cases are tied to COVID spreading in communities, rather than congregate settings like nursing homes.
2,729 individuals were hospitalized with COVID across Louisiana.
This update represented increases across all age groups, with the largest percentage among 5-17yo (27%), and regions, with the largest percentages coming from Regions 1 (Orleans, 16%), 4 (Acadiana, 14%) and 9 (Northshore, 14%).
72 more COVID deaths were reported, meaning 12,298 Louisianans have lost their lives to COVID since the beginning of the pandemic.
