
Yesterday the Louisiana Department of Health reported new 6,619 #COVID19 cases.
The vast majority (99.3%) of these cases were tied to COVID spreading in communities, rather than congregate settings like nursing homes.
2,844 individuals were hospitalized with COVID across Louisiana.
This update represented increases across all age groups, with the largest percentage among 5-17yo (25%), and regions, with the largest percentages coming from Regions 1 (Orleans, 13%), 2 (Baton Rouge, 13%) and 9 (Northshore, 14%).
They also reported 110 COVID deaths, including a child under the age of 1. They last reported a COVID death in a child 6 months ago. In total, 11 children younger than 18 have died from COVID in Louisiana.
