While there may be fewer COVID patients in the hospital, health professionals say they are hopeful this is a sign things will get better, especially as more people get vaccinated.
As of yesterday, St Tammany Health System said they had 89 COVID-19 patients after hitting a high of 114 on Aug. 9. They are still seeing about half of their inpatients for COVID-19, with just short of 90% of them unvaccinated. The patients are trending younger too.
