Yesterday the Louisiana Department of Health reported 16,541 #COVID19 new cases identified over the weekend.
The vast majority (98%) of the newly reported cases were tied to community spread, rather than congregate settings like nursing homes.
The update showed increases across all age groups and regions, with the largest share of cases coming from Regions 1 (New Orleans), 2 (Baton Rouge) and 9 (Northshore).
They also reported another 50 COVID deaths since Friday, bringing the state’s death toll to 11,260.
