The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has been investigating a shooting that occurred last week on Baker Lane in Hammond.
A caller stated they heard gunshots, then observed a male subject lying in the roadway.
Deputies responded to Baker Lane and once on scene, deputies discovered the male lying in the roadway with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The victim, identified as 44 YO Telra Johnson of Hammond, was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to injuries sustained during the altercation and subsequent shooting.
Several suspects have been identified, however, detectives are still looking for additional information related to the case.
