
Last week Louisiana went through an ominous string of days featuring record breaking hospitalizations.
On Friday the Louisiana Department of Health reported 6,116 new #COVID19 cases.
The vast majority of these cases (97.2%) were tied to community spread rather than congregate settings like nursing homes.
The update represented increases across all age groups and regions of the state.
As of Friday, 2,421 people in Louisiana were hospitalized with COVID, an all-time high. The previous record high was 2,350, which was set the day before.
They also reported 48 new #COVID deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 11,162.
