Longtime Amite resident and business owner Mose Guzzardo has been appointed interim Councilman representing District 3 following the resignation last month of Emanuel Zanders, III.
Guzzardo received a 3-0 vote with only Councilman Jonathan Foster absent.
In nominating Guzzardo, Councilman Kris Hart said the appointee does not intend to run for the seat on the March ballot.
