The Amite Council has scheduled another special meeting to fill a vacancy on the five-member board.
The council is scheduled to meet today at 9 a.m. to fill a vacancy in the District 3 seat.
Last month, longtime Councilman Emanuel Zanders, III, resigned his post as part of his guilty plea on misdemeanor election offenses.
The council has planned special meetings to fill Zanders’ open seat two other times. On both July 20 and July 26 the council failed to seat a quorum, defined as at least three of the four remaining members, to conduct the meeting.
