The North Oaks cash for vaccination program is tomorrow.
The concept has caught the eye of President Joe Biden, who said cash for shots appears to be working and more COVID stricken areas of the country ought to try it.
Tangipahoa and St. Tammany Parishes are some of the least vaccinated areas in the state. So, to try and turn those numbers in the right direction, North Oaks Hospital and a growing group of volunteers offered $100 to those who show up to get vaccinated. $50 will come with the first dose, followed by another $50 with the second.
The governor’s office said it will need to review the president’s call for those $100 vaccine incentives.
