Senator Patrick McMath says one of the reasons he decided to run for the seat he now occupies had to do with the terrible traffic on the Northshore.
Now McMath finds himself in a place to do more about it. This week McMath was notified that he will assume the chair of the Senate’s Transportation Committee. In that role he says he will have the ability to direct funds toward the worst traffic areas in the state, including the Northshore.
McMath said the traffic problems in his district are more about capacity than age of infrastructure. He said that he feels like between the redirected efforts of the state, and more federal funds thanks to a looming infrastructure deal, he feels like a lot can be accomplished in a short time if everyone works together.
