St Tammany Mosquito Abatement says West Nile virus infected mosquitoes were found in two different surveillance traps set in the City of Slidell that are both located south of I-12 and east of I-10.
Weather permitting, the area was supposed to be treated last night by plane.
They urge residents across St. Tammany to take extra precautions if they are going to be spending time outdoors. Don’t forget to wear mosquito repellent and to drain any containers holding water around your home.
If you like to receive notification when they will be treating in your area you can register to receive a phone call, text or email by visiting www.stpmad.org/request-notification.
