Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards, 21st Judicial DA Scott Perrilloux and anonymous donors have joined the North Oaks Foundation’s efforts to increase COVID-19 vaccinations, making it possible to open 100 additional slots in the “COVID 100 Immunization Clinic” schedule for a total of 500 appointments.
The additional spaces were added at 3 p.m. on July 27, and just hours later at 5 p.m., the count stood at 443 of 500 appointments scheduled.
A total of $50,000 has been donated to the COVID 100 initiative. The foundation is using donated funds to offer a $100 cash incentive to the first 500 people to register and receive the Pfizer two-dose COVID-19 vaccine.
Participants must self-schedule online at covid100.northoaks.org or call (985) 230-SHOT [7468] to receive the first dose of the vaccine Saturday, July 31, and the second dose on Saturday, Aug. 21, at the North Oaks Immunization Clinic.
