St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper announces work on the Soult Street upgrade project is expected to begin this week.
Cooper said once completed, navigating Soult St. will become safer, especially near intersections and Mandeville Middle School.
Cooper said the roadway is vital, as it connects U.S. 190 to LA 1088.
The $2.6 million project includes a mill and asphalt overlay of Soult St., turn lanes at U.S. 190 & LA 1088, extends the turn lane at Mandeville Middle School and improves the turn radius at several intersections among other related improvements.
The project is scheduled for completion in Summer 2022.
All work is weather permitting.
St. Tammany Parish Government appreciates your patience and reminds all drivers to travel with caution through work zones.
