
Northshore Technical Community College’s inaugural “Women in Welding” class celebrated the completion of their training at the NTCC Lacombe Campus.
The group of 6 women met 4 evenings a week for 12 weeks, completing the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core Curriculum in Welding.
Completing the course were India Claude, Taylor Crumb, Alyssa James, Meera Meempat, Gabrielle Nicholas, and Elizabeth Warren. The course was taught by Instructor Misty Hellmers, who is a graduate of NTCC’s Welding Program.
Dr. William Wainwright, NTCC Chancellor, says the Women in Welding signature program provides essential education and training in a high-demand field of study providing professional growth and employment opportunities that strengthen our communities and local economies. He added that he was extremely proud of the college team that has designed and implemented the mission critical program.
