The company that manages the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and the Smoothie King Center, ASM Global, plans to continue with mask requirements for future events, saying for events where 100% capacity is the sellable/useable capacity, masks will be required to be worn by everyone including employees, patrons, vendors, tenants, and subcontractors.
Earlier this week, New Orleans Mayor’s office spokesman Beau Tidwell indicated masks might not be required of everyone.
This July, the Monster Jam monster truck exhibition will be the first event at the Superdome to be allowed to have up to 100 percent capacity since the beginning of the pandemic. The city said all guests would be required to wear masks or show proof of vaccination.
