
On Tuesday, June 22, at 12:07 pm, the Amite City Police Department received a call of gunshots fired on West Oak Street.
Upon arriving near the area where shots were fired, officers spoke to multiple witnesses who identified the suspect as a white female with a handgun. The suspect, Kirsten Cuti, was apprehended nearby and brought in for questioning. Detectives learned that she and her boyfriend got into a physical altercation then she pulled out a handgun and began shooting. The victim was struck and was later transported to North Oaks Medical Center.
Cuti was charged with Illegal Discharge of Firearm and Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery.
