Yesterday Hammond Fire Department’s Special Operation Team was on the scene assisting Ponchatoula Vol. Fire Department with a fuel spill on East Pine Street (Hwy 22).
HFD applied Foam over the fuel to suppress the flammable vapors from the fuel until it could be cleaned up.
Louisiana State Police Hazmat and Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality were on the scene as well.
East Pine Street was closed between 2nd Ave and 1st Ave at that time.
