The body of a woman was pulled from Lake Pontchartrain Monday afternoon.
Authorities are working to identify the body, which was discovered two days after Causeway Police say a woman jumped off the Causeway near the Metairie shore.
Early Saturday morning Causeway Police got a call of a woman walking on the northbound span. When an officer approached the woman, she allegedly jumped over the guardrail and into the water.
The woman was described as approximately 18-21 years of age, 5-foot-6-inches tall, between 95-115 pounds, with short, dark hair.
Rescue crews searched for the woman in the water but ended their efforts Sunday. The investigation is ongoing.
