Traffic was backed up for miles yesterday on I-12 as St Tammany Fire District #1 responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on I-12 Eastbound between Lacombe and Airport Road.
An 18 wheeler carrying isopropyl alcohol overturned. There was a small leak but authorities brought that under control. The interstate was completely shut down for a period of time so drivers were asked to avoid the area and other roads along the Northshore quickly backed up with the additional traffic.
