
Last week the town of Roseland lost its valued and beloved Assistant Police Chief Bucky Phillips.
Phillips who had previously worked for the Roseland Police Department recently returned to serve in the position as Assistant Chief under Chief Andrew Henderson in January of 2021. He dedicated his life to service and is a 20 year law enforcement veteran.
In his law enforcement career, he served with the Roseland Police Department, the Tangipahoa , Orleans, Assumption Parish Sheriff Offices and Slidell Police Department. He was an eight year Army combat veteran , an NRA instructor and on occasion, a movie actor/extra.
Mayor Wanda McCoy said his fellow officers and citizens held him in high esteem. He knew how to treat everyone with respect and managed to get the job done. Assistant Chief Phillips was married to Mim Phillips and had 3 children, Sofia, Bucket and Kevin.
Services are being arranged through Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on Gause Blvd . Visitation will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell,LA 70460, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 9:00am. Burial with military honors, will be held on Tuesday at 1:30pm, at Biloxi National Cemetery.
