
The Hammond Police Department K9 Division competed in the U.S. Police Canine Association’s Region 10 K9 Trials that took place May 3-6, 2021.
The event was hosted by the Baton Rouge Police Department, and competitions were held at Olympia Stadium in Baton Rouge. Twenty-six K9 teams from the surrounding area competed.
HPD K9 Bishop and his handler Lieutenant Quinn Bivona took first place overall in the completion, as well as winning third place in Agility and as the Rookie Dog/Handler K9 Team. HPD K9 Moose and his handler Officer Myles Miller took first place in Criminal Apprehension and ninth overall in the competition.
