Traffic on the Causeway is starting to approach pre-pandemic levels.
According to the Causeway general manager, in April, just over 480,000 cars traveled southbound on the 24-mile bridge, nearly double the number of vehicles that made the same trip in April 2020, when the worsening pandemic had led to widespread lockdowns across the state. March 2021 saw a similar number of vehicles, about 493,000.
According to bridge officials those two months approach the approximately-500,000 that regularly drove south during the months before the pandemic.
