A well-known Independence native and Elvis Tribute Artist was murdered in Livingston Parish.
Early Saturday deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 25,000 stretch of Homestead Drive (Denham Springs) in reference to shots fired.
Sheriff Jason Ard said deputies located the victim’s body – identified as Jason Baglio. Baglio was shot multiple times & would die due to those injuries. Through evidence obtained at the scene, LPSO detectives would name 28-year-old Trace Pigott as the shooter. Pigott fled the scene before deputies arrived. He was tracked to the New Orleans area where he was apprehended by New Orleans police officers. Pigott’s father, identified as 53-year-old Tommy Ray, was also determined to be present when Baglio was killed.
This investigation is ongoing. Friends are raising funds to help Baglio’s family lay him to rest. A GoFundMe page has been established and contributions are being accepted.
