Yesterday the City of New Orleans reopened Canal Street to traffic near the Hard Rock Hotel collapse site.
This move comes more than 18 months after the deadly Hard Rock hotel collapse that happened in October of 2019. The structure was demolished, the street and pedestrian walkway is about to reopen. City leaders said crews contracted through the owners of the site have been working all week to get the street open.
It is unclear when Rampart Street will open.
