The Northshore Business Council announced its endorsement of the half penny sales tax proposition appearing on the April 24 ballot in Tangipahoa Parish.
They say voting YES on this proposition will provide dedicated funding for more competitive wages for all full-time employees in the Tangipahoa Parish School System.
If approved, all TPSS employees will receive a 7% raise and, the school system will receive an estimated $5 million from matching state funds to provide essential services to enhance student learning and provide before and after school care for working families.
Recently the Tangipahoa Chamber and the Tangipahoa Parish NAACP both offered their support to the proposition as well.
