St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper announced that the newly completed Black River Estates Bridge is now open for use by motorists, more than 30 days ahead of its original projected completion date.
The bridge, after approximately 25 years in service, was removed and completely replaced through an investment of $790,484.75. President Cooper said the replacement of the bridge increases safety for residents in Black River Estates and will increase the useful life of the bridge through modernization.
Brown Industrial was the contractor for the project.
