A female student at Southeastern Louisiana University has been placed on interim suspension following a campus stabbing incident that occurred last weekend.
18 YO Elizabeth Grace Johnson, of Folsom, was arrested after University Police responded to a disturbance call about an incident on the third floor of Louisiana Hall. When police arrived they found Draven Upchurch, an LSU student visiting on campus, had been stabbed multiple times.
Southeastern released a statement saying the student has been charged with aggravated battery for stabbing, in an isolated incident, was arrested and the criminal justice process is ongoing. This incident currently remains under investigation, and the student will go through the proper university disciplinary process as well as the criminal justice system process. The university process may result in disciplinary measures up to and including expulsion, but that is not yet complete. While the incident remains under investigation, the student has been placed on interim suspension from the University, which prevents access to campus and class pending disciplinary resolution.
Southeastern will not release any further information at this time.
