
The CDC says its no-sail order will remain in place until Nov. 1 for cruise ships despite a request from the Cruise Lines International Association to lift the order several months early.
The association says it believes cruise lines are ready to sail again from U.S. ports and asked the CDC to allow for a phased resumption by the beginning of July. Business travel is unlikely to reach pre-pandemic levels before 2024 at the earliest. So says Moody’s, which notes that 10% to 30% of business travel will be replaced by alternatives such as virtual meetings. That creates pressure on Delta, United, and American, which are estimated to generate at least a third of their revenue from business travelers.
